Intermediate Court of Appeals Reverses Guilty Conviction

The Intermediate Court of Appeals ("ICA") yesterday released its decision vacating my client's conviction in State of Hawaii v. Kaakimaka.  My client had been found guilty after a jury trial, but I appealed the conviction as I believed there were serious mistakes in the charging document and the jury instructions.

The State can seek to have the Supreme Court of Hawaii review the ICA's decision. That may result in me being able to do another oral argument in front of the Supreme Court of Hawaii like last year.
